THE LOCAL CHURCH LAYMEN’S BIBLE INSTITUTE MINISTRY   

Faith Bible Institute (F.B.I.) is a through the Bible course for every Christian offered here at Open Door Baptist Church. Students may study chronologically through the entire Bible and systematically through every major doctrine. Yet, basic classes meet only one evening each week, currently Tuesday nights. F.B.I. combines solid Bible teaching with an interactive video format utilizing student workbooks, transparencies, charts, maps and visuals to produce a life changing learning experience. The three-year course is divided into six semesters of 17-18 weeks each (plus optional electives). Live classes are filmed at F.B.I.’s central location (Rowland Road Baptist Church, Monroe, LA) and are then viewed by videotape here at Open Door Baptist Church and other Satellite Schools throughout the U.S. and Internationally.

COURSE LEVEL
Courses are on a college freshman and sophomore level. A high school diploma is not required to enroll. Anyone 12th grade and older may enroll (exceptional 10th and 11th grade students may enroll with parental approval - no younger students are ever accepted). Those with advanced degrees may also enroll.

BASIC SCHEDULE
Classes meet 1 evening each week. Our Church currently chooses to meet on Tuesday  evenings. Typical format:
6:00-6:50 - Old Testament class
7:00-7:50 - New Testament class
8:00-9:00 - Theology or Bible class

TEXTBOOKS
Basic textbooks are the Bible, almost 2,000 pages of interactive student notebooks, and the over 1,000 page Wilmington’s Guide to the Bible (WGB)

DIPLOMAS OFFERED
Bible College Diploma - for those completing the Basic Curriculum.
Advanced Diploma in Bible Studies - for those completing the Basic Curriculum and Elective courses.
Certificate of Completion - for Auditing Students who meet basic attendance and homework requirements.
Letter of Recognition - for Auditing student who meet basic attendance requirements.

CREDITS
There are three courses per semester at two credit hours each for a total of six credit hours a semester. (36 hours upon completion)

Exciting Bible Teacher, John T. Yates (AA, BS, MAR).

• Founder and Instructor of Faith Bible Institute since 1985. Has taught verse by verse through the Bible 7 times.
• Standing Pastor of Rowland Rd. Baptist Church (RRBC) of Monroe, LA. Has served as Associate Pastor of RRBC since 1984, leading evangelistic, educational, youth, bus, children’s, college, and radio ministries. Began preaching in 1978 at age 15.
• Widely used as a speaker in churches, camps, revivals, schools, college campuses, and conferences, throughout the United States.
• Author of Faith Bible Institute’s two seven Volume Commentary Sets On the Old Testament and the New Testament, the four Volume Set on Theology, and works on Bible Prophecy, Angels, the Church, and Scientific and Biblical Creationism.

F.B.I. utilizes a professional multi-camera video system with onscreen graphics and visuals to produce exciting video tapes of live Bible college classes to be viewed by Satellite schools in Local Churches worldwide.
